Shipmates: Phyllis and I want to wish everyone a safe and happy Thanksgiving. Please remember in your prayers our servicemen and women who will be “Standing The Watch” on Thursday. We all know what it is like to be away from our loved ones for the holidays. Let’s hope they at least get a hot meal!
Shipmates: I am very sorry to report that Mary Compton passed away on November 14th 2012. She was the wife of Admiral Bryan Compton the first Commanding Officer of our Great Ship Nimitz. The Admiral has been a great supporter of the Association and on behalf of the Association I have extended our prayers and best wishes to the Admiral and his family during this time.
Shipmates: I have finally found the time to catch up on the Association’s 15th Reunion in Sacramento, California. We had a small group but a super time! To all who attended my heart full thanks and Bravo Zulu for making this reunion a success!

This year’s event was held September 5ththrough the 8th. Joe and I arrived on the 5th and set up our display in a booth provided by theTailhook Association. It is always great to see former CommandingOfficer’s of Nimitz! Although we did not sign up anyone for the Association, Joe and I gave out over 60 business cards to people that were interested in the Association. We are looking forward to a number of them becoming new members! We continue to gain great exposure for the Association and Nimitz, as once again we were the only active duty carrier represen ...

Shipmates: You have three days left to book your hotel at the Nimitz rate for the Sacramento Reunion!! Currently, there are only three rooms left for Friday show up but you should have no problems with Saturday and Sunday thru Monday! Don't forget to bring your items for the Silent Aution. We have increased the Scholarship ship to $3,000 and the aution supports that! Looking forward to seeing everyone in September!!
