HELLO NIMITZ ASSOCIATION!!!
We are getting closer to the time to gather together in Savannah, Ga. for our 16th annual reunion. So fill out those registration forms and mail them to Jim Disney. Then get on the phone and make your hotel reservations, your shipmates want to see you in Savannah! Scholarship candidates also need to get their applications in for the Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Scholarship Award. The deadline date is Aug.18 to get all this done.
We have only scheduled a few group events for Savannah so you will have plenty time of to see Savannah on your own or with other shipmates. Savannah has plenty of attractions for you to visit and see at a very reasonable cost. The restaurants are great and offer plenty of choices at good prices. Shipmates: It is with heavy heart that I am passing along the information that Carolyn Paschall passed away this morning! Bill has referred to her as "The Founding Mother of the USS NIMITZ Association” and I totally agree. I am sure that all who knew her will miss her very much. Please remember Bill in your prayers.
Shipmates: Time to catch up on a number of items. First off I want to let everyone know that Bill Paschall’s wife Carolyn is strongly in need of our prayers and best wishes! For those who are new to the Association Bill is one of the Association’s Founding Fathers and the first President of the Association. Please keep Bill in your prayers as well!
Phyllis and I took a trip to Seattle, Washington to see my sister-in- law two weeks ago and I was hoping to take them onboard Nimitz for a tour. However, the PAO let me know that they were leaving port before we would arrive and that was that. Nimitz sailed to Southern California to do Quals and pick up her Airwing. She is headed out for deployment and I know we all wish her and the crew well!!

Association Members: I have received a call from our current Secretary/Treasurer Jim Disney and due to unforeseen circumstances he has asked to be relieved of his duties. If anyone is willing to step up to help out in the Association, please let me know soonest. The duties will be assumed at the Savannah Reunion. You should have a little background in accounting as it will help out with doing the Association’s finances. Thank you for your support.
