Shipmates:
Fellow Association Members if you missed the Pensacola Reunion you missed another great event. Read the Winter Issue of the Nimitz’ Newsletter to see how well it went! Bill Paschall was the coordinator and did a fabulous job.
Phyllis and I will be hosting the 15th Association Reunion in Sacramento, California, September 21st thru to the 24th 2012. That is a Friday to Monday with check in starting on Thursday. We have booked the Embassy Suites in Old Sacramento as they gave us the best deal and for those who have stayed at the Suites during the Vegas Reunion will remember that they have a two hour Happy Hour and a full breakfast each morning! Additionally, the hotel is right off the Sacramento River with a great view!
In the next Newsletter we will be sending out an attendance and events list and ask the membership to let Phyllis and I know what you would like to do. If you are not familiar with Sacramento, it is the State Capitol of California and is known as the City of Trees. We have chosen the September time frame because the weather should be perfect.
Some of the events we are looking at include a tour of the Capitol, a riverboat ride with or without dinner, a tour of the California Railroad Museum, a tour of the Croker Art Museum. There are five Indian Casino’s within 1½ hours of Sacramento. We are also looking at a Wine Country trip. The hotel is right across the street from Old Sacramento where there are many restaurants and bars, a comedy club and many shops for the ladies. We also have access to Sacramento’s K Street Mall!
Please get the word out to all the Shipmates you know, especially those that have not made a reunion lately, to gear up for this one!
